Based in Taiwan, (HTC) has been manufacturing high quality smart phones and PDA’s for quite some time. Among their newest products is the HTC Mogul. Distrubted by Verizon and Sprint, this little baby comes shipped with wall charger, USB cable, stereo headset, CD-ROM software, leather case and 512MB memory card for just $399.99.
Is Your Phone Smart?
Still not sure exactly what it is? Well, the HTC Mogul is a smart phone with a multi-touch LCD screen that measures 2.8 inches with 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 65,000 color display. This smart phone comes with a stylus for touch screen input. Slide the phone horizontally to the left and you can access the QWERTY keyboard with nice size buttons for easy tapping.
Organize Your Life With Your Mogul
One of the nice things about this phone is that it’s perfect for organizing your life. For example, you can use it to organize your contacts. How it works is that each contact can have entry for 12 phone numbers, street address, email address, IM ID, and a number of other things. Not only that, but calls can be tagged with polyphonic ring tones and photo IDs. And if that wasn’t enough, voice activated dialing is also supported! The Mogul smart phone is compatible with Word, Powerpoint and Excel. Files with compatible formats can be opened or created on the Mogul. Adobe Reader is also installed for opening PDF’s. And last but not least, the HTC Mogul is capable of SMS, MMS, and email.
Surf The Internet And Take Pictures
The Mogul has Wi-Fi capability and EVDO support. Surfing the web is a breeze on the Mogul - and it’s even simpler with the installed Windows Internet Explorer Mobile browser. This smart phone has Infrared, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. The Mogul has 96MB internal memory, which can be expanded with an included 512MB microSD card. And, if you’re a Sprint subscriber, you can even watch live TV broadcasts with it. The Mogul is also included with MSN Messenger software for instant messenging.
With the built-in 2.0 mega pixel digital camera, you can take photos up to 1200 x 1600 pixels resolution. It has up to 8x zoom, LED flash, and photo editing tools. The digital camera can capture video up to 30 seconds, and can be saved in MPEG4 or motion JPG format. Photos and video can be attached to MMS and email.
Not Without Its Critics
However, the HTC smart phone is not without it’s critics. For example, the limited memory can limit how productive the phone is - so a larger microSD card will be needed. Navigating with the touch screen and operating with the QWERTY works fine, although the circular toggle button underneath the screen is a bit stiff. Thankfully, downloading is fast, and depending on the service provider, the EVDO support on the HTC Mogul will soon be upgraded.
